Alicia Cowley, MD, MBA

Alicia Cowley, MD, MBA is an internist and former hospitalist who serves as the Medical Director of Phreesia Network Solutions. In this role, she helps ensure that our digital experiences reflect real clinical workflows, that sponsored content reaches the right audiences at the right moments, and that innovation across healthcare and life sciences ultimately improves patient outcomes while delivering measurable value.
Dr. Cowley came to Phreesia from NYU Langone Health, where she was an attending physician and clinical assistant professor in the department of Internal Medicine. As a hospitalist, she cared for medically complex adult patients across general medicine, surgical co-management, and medical oncology services. She was also deeply involved in medical education, quality improvement, and value-based care initiatives that were implemented across the health system. She also interned at the World Health Organization developing guidance around open disclosure policies following adverse events in healthcare.
Dr. Cowley trained in internal medicine and business administration. She holds a Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, in neurobiology from Harvard. She earned her medical degree from the NYU Grossman School of Medicine where she also completed her residency training in internal medicine, and an MBA from the NYU Stern School of Business.
