VoiceAI now creates eClinicalWorks telephone encounters automatically

What’s new: VoiceAI now automatically creates a Telephone Encounter in eClinicalWorks (eCW) each time a call is received, capturing the caller’s message and routing it directly into the EHR. Staff can also create telephone encounters manually from the VoiceAI web and mobile apps when needed.

How this helps you: Your staff can spend less time documenting calls across multiple systems. Prescription refill requests, callbacks and other patient messages can flow directly into the patient chart, giving staff the information they need to manage tasks without manually re-entering call details in eCW.

SEE HOW IT WORKS

Medicaid eligibility verified on the day it matters most

What’s new: Starting August 31, 2026, Phreesia Eligibility & Benefits will automatically rerun insurance eligibility on the date of the appointment for patients covered by direct Medicaid plans. Coverage status is confirmed before the patient arrives, with no additional staff action required.

How this helps you: Medicaid coverage can change during the month, and an eligibility change that goes undetected may not surface until a claim is denied. A date-of-service eligibility check gives your billing team more current coverage information before the appointment, helping reduce manual rechecks and the downstream work associated with coverage-related denials.

Next step: This enhancement is automatically enabled for organizations using Eligibility & Benefits.

More VoiceAI capabilities now available for athena organizations

What’s new: athena organizations can now use VoiceAI for more types of patient requests, including automated payment collection and appointment scheduling.

IMPROVE YOUR VOICEAI WORKFLOW

Communication

Invalid phone numbers are now flagged before messages fail to deliver

What’s new: Phreesia now validates patient phone numbers when they are saved or updated. Numbers that do not meet standard formatting requirements, including common placeholder values such as “999-999-9999”, are marked as Invalid in communication preferences.

A warning indicator also appears on the communication history page, and invalid numbers are excluded from message routing.

How this helps you: When a patient has another valid contact method on file, Phreesia routes communications through that channel instead of attempting delivery to an invalid phone number, reducing failed deliveries and the risk of missed reminders, billing notices, and other time-sensitive messages.

Next step: This enhancement is automatically available for all organizations.

In-app Resource Center now available in the Phreesia Dashboard

What’s new: A new Help badge in the Phreesia Dashboard provides a centralized Resource Center where staff can quickly access onboarding guides, knowledge base articles, recent product releases and important announcements, all without leaving the Dashboard.

How this helps you: Finding answers is easier when help is available right where work happens. The Resource Center reduces time spent searching for documentation and helps staff stay informed about new features, workflow improvements, and other helpful resources without interrupting their day.

Next step: This enhancement is automatically enabled for all organizations.
