Phreesia is committed to racial and economic justice. As part of that commitment, we are very pleased to announce a new initiative that will give the company, its founders and their families, our Board of Directors and our employees the opportunity to support United States and Canada based organizations that are on the front lines, fighting for equality, criminal justice reform and relief for communities in crisis. Information about each of these groups can be found below.
Phreesia’s co-founders and their spouses—Chaim and Jennifer Indig, and Evan and Suzanne Roberts—have pledged a collective donation of $50,000. Additionally, Phreesia's Board of Directors has pledged a collective donation of $60,000.
As a company, Phreesia will also match each dollar that our employees donate, up to $50,000. All donations are voluntary. Our goal is to reach $210,000 in total donations by August 1. We’ve seen time and time again how passionate and justice-minded our Phreesians are and we’re honored to support them in working for change.

Founded in 2010 by Chef José Andrés, World Central Kitchen (WCK) uses the power of food to heal and strengthen communities through times of crisis and beyond. WCK has transformed the field of disaster response to help devastated communities recover and establish resilient food systems. Since its founding, WCK has served over 25 million meals to those impacted by natural disasters and other crises around the world in countries including Albania, The Bahamas, Colombia, Guatemala, Haiti, Mexico, Mozambique, Spain, Venezuela, and the United States. In 2019, World Central Kitchen activated in response to dozens of disasters, both natural and man-made. Their services span a broad spectrum from serving children in shelters on our border with Mexico, to delivering meals on the beaches of Indonesia, to more recently using funding from donations to help feed essential and healthcare workers during the COVID-19 crisis.
The Equal Justice Initiative is committed to ending mass incarceration and excessive punishment in the United States, to challenging racial and economic injustice, and to protecting basic human rights for the most vulnerable people in American society. Founded in 1989 by Bryan Stevenson, a widely acclaimed public interest lawyer and bestselling author of Just Mercy, the EJI is a nonprofit organization that provides representation to people who have been illegally convicted, unfairly sentenced or abused in state jails and prisons. The EJI also challenges the death penalty and excessive punishment and provides re-entry assistance to formerly incarcerated people. The organization works with communities that have been marginalized by poverty and discouraged by unequal treatment.

The NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, Inc. is America’s premier legal organization fighting for racial justice. Founded in 1940 under the leadership of Thurgood Marshall, who subsequently became the first African-American U.S. Supreme Court Justice, LDF’s mission has always been transformative: to achieve racial justice, equality and an inclusive society. Through litigation, advocacy, and public education, LDF seeks structural changes to expand democracy, eliminate disparities, and achieve racial justice in a society that fulfills the promise of equality for all Americans. LDF also defends the gains and protections won over the past 75 years of civil rights struggle and works to improve the quality and diversity of judicial and executive appointments.
